Our story

From sign painting to granite carving, John Gragert has been an artist for as long as he can remember. Experimenting with materials such as paint, charcoal, wood, and stone has allowed him to create meaningful works of art for those around him.

Over the years, he began using his craft to assist those who have experienced loss. In 2013, Family Stone Memorials was established— a family-owned and operated business dedicated to creating one-of-a-kind memorials and monuments for the Sauk Valley area.

After serving the community for over a decade, the decision was made to relocate from their Midwestern home base to the Hudson Valley in New York. As they make New York their new home, they remain committed to upholding the values of family and creativity, which continue to be reflected in every design they create.
